Khenpo Tenzin: Yellow Dzambala Dharma Practice

Khenpo Tenzin will lead us in Yellow (gold) Dzambala Dharma practice which includes chanting and meditation. This Dharma practice helps to bring about prosperity and includes a focus on generosity for oneself and others. In Buddhism, there are 3 general categories of Giving.

  • Giving material things: This includes donating money, food, clothing, or other material goods.

  • Giving loving protection: This includes providing safety and protection to those who are in fear, danger, or crisis.

  • Giving loving understanding: This includes teaching the Buddha's teachings, or the Dharma, to others. In Tibetan Buddhism, this is considered the most important type of giving.

Generosity is considered to be a very important practice in Buddhism. It is the first of the six paramitas, or far-reaching practices, of a bodhisattva.

Some say that generosity can be practiced in many ways, including:

  • Offering a smile or a compassionate gaze

  • Giving your time and energy to help those in need

  • Working to help the environment
